Ashtanga Yoga Beginners Class 5
This class introduces the final set of standing postures in this introduction to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. The pace and strength-work builds up in this 5th of a set of 7 classes – beginning with a warm-up of Sun Salutation A and B, and integrating the postures learned from Classes 1 to 4, and finishing with an introduction to the final set of standing postures. These poses involve balance, arm-strength, and lunges.
This set of seven classes takes you through the fundamental postures and breath-work in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. This is not the same as what is known as the ‘Primary Series’ in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga – it is an introduction to some of the postures found in that Series.
That said, these set of classes are dynamic and require you to be physically fit. Previous yoga experience is ideal, but not essential.
We recommend that you practise and familiarise yourself with each class as many times as you like, before moving on to the next class. All you need is a clean space and a yoga mat!
This is a beginners to intermediate level class and is 43 minutes in length.
