Ashtanga Yoga Beginners Class 2
The focus of this class is Sun Salutation B (Surya Namaskar B). Sun Salutation A and B is one of the most commonly practised in yoga, and generally starts off an Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga class. This routine by experienced Sydney yoga teacher Yuki Nakazawa is an excellent introduction to this flowing dynamic style.
Previous yoga experience is ideal, but not essential. If you are a regular practitioner in yoga and you want to be introduced to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, this is the set of classes for you. Also this practice assumes you to be generally physically fit without any injuries.
With this class, the regular pace has intentionally been slowed down in the first half of the class to support you in having time to explore each posture with correct alignment.
This 2nd of a set of seven classes takes you through the fundamental postures and breath-work in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. This is an introduction to some of the postures found in that Series, and is not the same as what is known as the ‘Primary Series’ in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
We recommend that you practise and familiarise yourself with each class as many times as you like, before moving on to the next class. All you need is a clean space and a yoga mat!
This is a beginners level class and is 48 minutes in length.
