Yin Yoga Open Level Class 2
Yin Yoga Practice (Regular and Extended Length): In this second of two led classes (you get two versions of the same class – regular length and extended length) , Simon Low will continue to introduce you to the postures of Yin yoga. Simon focuses on giving you deeper mayo-fascia release all throughout the joints of the body, particularly around the hips, while allowing you to explore and release blocked energy through an awareness of the energy meridian system in the body as it pertains to Chinese medicine and yoga.
These two classes (Regular and Extended Length) are designed to allow you to practise the version that best suits your available time. For these classes you will need a yoga mat, three blankets, a bolster (or long cushion), and two blocks.
The practise of yoga for many is about establishing a sense of balance in our life. Yin (and the complementary Yang) style yoga offers a balanced approach to asana practise.
Yin is a more restorative, feminine, passive, peaceful practice. This is balanced by a more dynamic, masculine, and challenging Yang Yoga practice) .
Yin and Yang practice challenge our joints , they enhance our awareness and stimulate our connective tissue, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Balancing this work on the seen-felt-physical body, we explore the unseen energetic body with particular reference to the energy meridian system as is discussed in Chinese medicine.
This is an open level class and is 137 minutes in length.
